Reflection For Written Assignment Ideas

So, it's been a week since I've last posted and I am excited to announce that we have finally finished the reading of both texts and will soon begin reading G12 plays which full under the genre of drama. However, with every blessing comes a curse (kind of) and we have to complete the written assignment now which is I believe around a 1500 world literary exploration of a piece we studied (so either Marquez's Chronicle of A Death Foretold or Ibsen's A Doll's House). That brings me on to my next point which is the choice of doing either Chronicle of A Death Foretold or A Doll's House. I am leaning towards A Doll's House however, I am keeping my options open. I will be making a brainstorm of ideas regarding the different topic which I can explore with respects to the prompt which I have chosen for each of the respective texts. I feel as I have a better understanding of A Doll's House and can interpret its literary features more effectively therefore, I feel like I will choose Ibsen's piece for the written assignment. I have read over both supervised essays and have done some brainstorming although it wasn't much (will post the image of the brainstorm on the blog). I wrote about the use of foil as a literary tool and how Ibsen contrasts Mrs. Linde / Nora, Torvald / Rank. I could go on that path however, I could also branch off to each character especially Mrs Linde and Dr. Rank and investigating their role in A Doll's House (ie which values they convey whether about society etc.). I could also investigate Gabriel Garcia Marquez's use of dreams as a recurring omen or motif. However, I feel like I am less confident in doing that as I grasped A Doll's House more effectively than Marquez's novella. Soon I will be posting an image of the brainstorming ideas sheet which will hopefully set me up in order to be able to complete the outline in the future and begin writing the essay since it's due on the 13th due to ADEC (p.s. They never fail to impress)
